Today Clothing has dressed Ann Arbor for more than ten years, and last month one of its own brands said thank you for it. Engineered Garments posted a retailer spotlight on the shop, thanking owner Eric Hardin for a decade of working together. If you have not stopped in on Fourth Ave yet, this is the sign.
Kevin Pearson and Eric Hardin opened Today in 2013 because they thought Ann Arbor deserved better retail. Pearson told the Michigan Daily, "I knew no one was doing retail well here." Today is Michigan's only official stockist for A.P.C., and the racks also hold Our Legacy, Norse Projects, Engineered Garments, Arpenteur, Blue Blue Japan, and pieces from local designer Yoshi. Vintage soul music fills the room while every rack looks hand-picked, because it is. Hardin says the whole approach comes down to knowing the people behind each label, not just the clothes.
