👻 Ghostwriting Comments: DTE Energy has been accused of (and hasn’t denied) ghostwriting supportive public comments for its $456.4 million rate hike. The Michigan Public Service Commission identified 16 suspicious public documents from businesses in favor of the rate hike and found that a DTE spokesperson wrote at least four of the public comments and many more had irregular writing patterns. By viewing the metadata associated with the PDF comments, the commission proved four of the documents were created from the same source, despite being submitted by different Michigan businesses.
