🖥️ Local Dashboards: Data lovers, buckle up. Last week, the city of Ann Arbor rolled out a new Open Data Portal - a one-stop shop for charts, maps, and dashboards on everything from rainfall and road conditions to water quality and snowplow routes. A few links to play around with:

🎓️ Congrats Grads: For the first time, Washtenaw County Jail held a graduation ceremony. The local jail was honoring nine incarcerated men who earned their diplomas or GEDs through the IGNITE education program. The initiative, run with the Sheriff’s Office and the Washtenaw Intermediate School District, offers education and job training to help people reenter society. Sheriff Alyshia Dyer called it a celebration of “second chances” and “the extraordinary persistence” of the graduates.

The Florida-based franchise offers one-on-one grooming in an AKC SAFE-certified salon, along with all-natural treats, birthday cakes, and boutique toys. 🚆 Michigan Central: A new transit hub planned for Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood could make it easier than ever to travel from Ann Arbor to Canada by train. Backed by $30 million in state funds and a $10 million federal grant, the Michigan Central hub will bring back passenger trains by 2028, extending Amtrak’s Wolverine line through an underwater, cross-border tunnel to Windsor and on to Toronto. The project replaces outdated bus and train stations and marks the return of train service near the historic Michigan Central Station for the first time since 1988.
