The popular 3-hour pregame show will run from 9 am to noon and feature host Reece Davis, analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Lee Corso, and Nick Saban. Start making those signs and practicing those field goals (one U of M student will be picked to kick a 33-yard field goal to win $25k - here’s last week’s kick). Expect more details to be announced this week.

📚️ Brainiacs: For the second year in a row, Ann Arbor was named the most educated city in America. Per a study by WalletHub, more than 95% of residents 25 and older have a high school diploma, 57% have a bachelor’s degree, and 30% have an advanced degree. Columbus, Ohio came in 40 spots later at 41. Makes sense.

⚡️ EV Chargers: To accelerate the community’s adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), Ann Arbor has launched a Commercial EV Charger Program, where local businesses and multifamily properties can apply to receive four free level-2 EV chargers with a five-year software package and warranty. 🗞 Michigan's U.S. Senate Race: While not officially confirmed, Michigan’s U.S. Senate candidates will likely have two televised debates in October. Democrat Elissa Slotkin will face off against Republican Mike Rogers in Grand Rapids on October 9 and Detroit on October 14. The debates will be hosted by WOOD-TV and WXYZ respectively and broadcast statewide. Slotkin currently holds a 5-point lead in the polls.

📦️ Drone Zone: In early 2025, Michigan will open a six-mile wide drone corridor in a rural area between Alpena and Camp Grayling to test new drone capabilities. As the FAA appears close to relaxing restrictions on the distance drones can fly from their pilots, the corridor will allow the state to test the feasibility of drone package deliveries. The initiative is a strategic play to position Michigan as a leader in drone advancements.
