📚️ AADL Lobby Shops: The first of three micro-retail “Lobby Shops” have opened inside the Ann Arbor District Library’s downtown branch. The first shop to open, Silky Grooves, sells vintage tees, vinyl records and other collectibles. The shop will soon be joined by Gardens Within, a shop selling backyard‑grown blooms and houseplants, and JFSMade, a pop‑up market for products created by refugee entrepreneurs supported by Jewish Family Services. Each tenant sets its own hours within the library’s 10 a.m.–8 p.m. schedule and signs a six‑month lease with an option to renew.

🎟️ Hill Auditorium Ticket Scam: Michigan’s attorney general is investigating a ticket‑resale scam involving “thehillauditorium.com” and “annarborconcerts.com”, which posed as Hill Auditorium and funneled fans to inflated resale listings (often listing tickets at 10x their real price). The sites violate Michigan’s Consumer Protection Act for venue impersonation and price‑gouging, and the AG warns Michiganders to purchase only through official ticket outlets.

🦉 Night Owls Ride Program: In an effort to improve on-campus safety, U of M partnered with Lyft to launch the “Night Owls Ride” program. Through the partnership students can use the code UMOWLRIDES to receive $4 off any trips that begin and end inside a campus‑area zone from 8 p.m.‑7 a.m. The late-night transportation program grew out of Central Student Government feedback and puts Michigan alongside 150 other universities using Lyft to fill overnight transit gaps.

🚁 Drone Deliveries: Through a new executive directive, Governor Gretchen Whitmer is doubling down on her campaign for Michigan to spearhead drone delivery technology. The new Advanced Air Mobility Initiative orders state agencies to streamline rules, lure manufacturers and build a Detroit‑to‑Ann Arbor “air mobility corridor.” A $4.1 million fund will back four projects in the state - CVS drug deliveries, Munson Healthcare supply runs, Jack Demmer Ford parts drops and U‑M’s new “M‑Air” testbed and startup incubator - positioning drones, air taxis and uncrewed aircraft to be designed, tested and built in the Mitten.
