๐ŸŽถTop of the Park Kicks Off This Friday

Ann Arbor's best summer tradition is back, with Top of the Park opening this Friday, June 12, at the Power Center plaza on E. Washington. Opening night brings April Varner at 5, the Gabriel Brass Band at 7, Jess Merritt at 8:30, and DJ Myint closing things out at 10, plus the usual mix of food trucks, David Zinn chalk art, and a KidZone for the little ones. Bring a blanket, grab a bite, and settle in for free live music under the stars. Schedule

๐ŸŒฑ Ann Arbor's 2026 A2Zero Climate Awards

The Michigan Theater filled up Wednesday night, June 3, for the city's sixth annual A2Zero awards. Climate Action Heroes ranged from composting champion Annie Broderick to U-M's Zero Waste Club founders, while grants went to Neutral Zone, Peace Neighborhood Center, and Ann Arbor Joy Ride, and C'mon Betty became the first business to earn platinum certification. The city also shared good news: over 32% of community electricity and 75% of city facility power now come from renewables, all part of the push toward carbon neutrality by 2030. mLive

Mock Up of a 10-Story High-Rise on the corner of First and Huron

๐Ÿ™๏ธ 10-Story High-Rise Coming to Downtown Ann Arbor

The Planning Commission voted 7-0 to send a 10-story building at First and Huron to City Council, replacing the Last Word, Live nightclub, and the Arbor Atrium office building. Plans call for 285 apartments (15% affordable), a ground-floor coffee shop, and a possible rooftop bar that could become the Last Word's new home. Developer Ryan Talbot is pitching it all-electric with solar, EV charging, and a Treeline trail segment, though parking is still the sticking point. mLive

Tagliatelle Portofino

๐Ÿ Sugo Pasta Bar Coming to Kerrytown

A new fresh pasta concept called Sugo is setting up at 201 N. Fourth Ave., the former Bellania spa space (right across from TeaHaus). The concept leans into handmade pasta, seasonal ingredients, fried apps, and a high-energy open kitchen, the kind of "slow food done fast" spot that's hard to find around here. It will have an outdoor seating section in the back. It's backed by a small NYC group that already runs three Osteria Carlina restaurants, making it the latest New York to Ann Arbor crossover. Set to open Fall 2026.

The World Cup kicks off this week

โšฝ Where to Watch the World Cup in Ann Arbor

The World Cup kicks off Thursday, June 11, and the town is ready. South Campus has Garage Bar and Pizza House, both close to the action and open late. Downtown, Conor O'Neill's is the spot, where nearly 300 fans crammed in back in 2022, with HopCat and Regents close behind. Fraser's is the townie pick. Worth the drive: ABC Session Room and Black Rock. See you out there. Match Schedule

Free Yoga & Pilates every Saturday at Broadway Park West

๐Ÿง˜ Free Summer Yoga and Pilates at Broadway Park West

Starting June 13, the new riverfront park is hosting free outdoor fitness classes all summer through Aug. 29. Core Collective leads mat Pilates every Saturday from 8 to 9 a.m., while Eclipse Yoga offers Sunday sessions from 9 to 10 a.m. on select dates. No registration needed, just bring a mat, water, and sunscreen. Since the park has no vehicle access yet, walk or bike in through the Depot Street tunnel or the Broadway bridges off the Border-to-Border Trail. A perfect excuse to start your weekend by the Huron.
