Wolverine Tower To Be Demolished

Morning, Ann Arbor! Well, I’m just going to come right out and say it. At the end of the month, I’ll be shutting down the Michigander.
For the past 3 years, I’ve sat down at a coffee shop every Sunday to research and write about all things local. It’s allowed me to better understand the city I love so much and hopefully share that with you all.
But it was never truly sustainable. With a growing family and demanding day job, I knew I’d need to wind it down eventually. And I’d rather do that on my own terms before the quality or consistency fades. And truthfully, I always like leaving parties early.
So, that’s it. This fun corner of the internet will come to an end soon. Thanks for giving me 3.5 minutes of your attention every Monday morning. It’s meant a lot.

📱 Wholesome Internet: Ed Bambas, a Brighton Meijer worker, may be the most beloved person on the internet right now. Ed is an 88-year-old Army vet who was forced to go back to work after his wife got sick and he lost his GM pension 13 years ago. The internet heard Ed’s story and rallied around him. In less then a week, a GoFundMe has raised just under $2 million for Ed to retire. Here’s the viral video that started it all and here’s the follow-up where Ed receives a $1.7 million check.
